5. Social Media

Social media plugins with Shariff

Social media plugins are used on this website (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, XING, LinkedIn, Tumblr).

You can usually recognize the plugins by the respective social media logos. To ensure data protection on this website, we only use these plugins together with the so-called "Shariff" solution. This application prevents the plugins integrated on this website from transferring data to the respective provider when you first enter the site.

A direct connection to the provider's server is only established (consent) when you activate the respective plugin by clicking on the associated button. As soon as you activate the plugin, the respective provider receives the information that you have visited this website with your IP address. If you are logged into your respective social media account (e.g. Facebook) at the same time, the

respective providers assign the visit to this website to your user account.

Activating the plugin represents consent within the meaning of Article 6 Paragraph 1 lit. a GDPR. You can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future.

Facebook plugins (Like & Share button)

Plugins from the social network Facebook are integrated on this website. The provider of this service is Facebook Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2, Ireland. According to Facebook, however, the data collected is also transferred to the USA and other third countries.

You can recognize the Facebook plugins by the Facebook logo or the “Like button” (“Like”) on this website. An overview of the Facebook plugins can be found here:  https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/?locale=de_DE.

When you visit this website, a direct connection is established between your browser and the Facebook server via the plugin. Facebook receives the information that you have visited this website with your IP address. If you click the Facebook "Like" button while you are logged into your Facebook account, you can link the content of this website to your Facebook profile. This allows Facebook to associate your visit to this website with your user account. We would like to point out that we, as the provider of the pages, have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or how it is used by Facebook. You can find more information on this in Facebook's privacy policy at:  https://de-de.facebook.com/privacy/explanation.

If you do not want Facebook to be able to associate your visit to this website with your Facebook user account, please log out of your Facebook user account.

The Facebook plugins are used on the basis of Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the widest possible visibility in social media. If a corresponding consent has been requested, the processing takes place exclusively on the basis of Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR; the consent can be revoked at any time.

Use of tracking pixels:

a) We would like to point out that we evaluate your user behavior when sending the newsletter. For this evaluation, the e-mails sent contain so-called web beacons or tracking pixels, which represent one-pixel image files that are stored on our website. For the evaluations, we link the data specified in § 2 Para. 2 of this data protection declaration and the web beacons with your e-mail address and an individual ID. Links received in the newsletter also contain this ID. The information is stored as long as you have subscribed to the newsletter. After you unsubscribe, we store the data purely statistically and anonymously.

b) The data is only collected in pseudonymised form, so the IDs are not linked to your other personal data, and direct personal reference is excluded.

c) We use tracking pixels to analyze and regularly improve the use of our newsletter. We can use the statistics obtained to improve our newsletter and make it more interesting for you as a user. The legal basis for the use of tracking pixels is Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR. - 6 - d) You can object to this tracking at any time by clicking on the separate link provided in each e-mail or by informing us using the following contact details: ... [address and e-mail address of the person responsible for processing of Contradictions].

Such tracking is also not possible if you have deactivated the display of images in your e-mail program by default. In this case, the newsletter will not be displayed to you in full and you may not be able to use all functions. If you display the images manually, the tracking mentioned above will take place.

Use of the Facebook pixel (Facebook Custom Audiences):

a) Furthermore, we use the so-called “Facebook pixel” from Facebook Inc. (“Facebook”) on our website. This allows users of our website to see interest-based advertisements (“Facebook ads”) when they visit the social network Facebook or other websites that also use the process. With the Facebook pixel, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Facebook server. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Facebook through the use of this tool and are therefore informing you according to our state of knowledge: By integrating the Facebook pixel, Facebook receives the information that you have received an ad from us clicked on or called up the corresponding website on our website. If you are registered with a Facebook service, Facebook can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Facebook or have not logged in, there is a possibility that the provider will find out and store your IP address and other identifiers.

b) By using the Facebook pixel, we are pursuing the purpose of only showing Facebook ads that we have placed to those Facebook users who have also shown an interest in our website. With the help of the Facebook pixel, we want to ensure that our Facebook ads correspond to the potential interest of the user and are not annoying. Furthermore, we can use the Facebook pixel to understand the effectiveness of Facebook ads for statistical purposes by seeing whether users were redirected to our website after clicking on a Facebook ad. The legal basis for the use of the Facebook pixel is Art. 6 Para. 1 Letter f GDPR.

c) You can object to the use of the Facebook pixel at any time by using the following opt-out option: ... [opt-out to be created by the website operator is required according to BayLDA specifications]

d) Third party information: Facebook Inc., 1601 S California Ave, Palo Alto, California 94304, USA;  http://www.facebook.com/policy.php;  further information on data collection:  http://www.facebook.com/help/186325668085084,  http://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/your-info-on-other#applications  such as  http://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/your-info#everyoneinfo.
